Compliance and EMC Test Lead

Based in Surrey working for a high technology company the Compliance and EMC Test Lead will manage all regulatory compliance requirements, and be hands on build and test support for concept and prototype units, along with supporting build and test capability ('what needs to be tested and how') in house and at our outsource manufacturing partner.

The Compliance and EMC Test Lead will have the following key responsibilities

Compliance:
*Keep up to date with applicable directives and standards (EN 61010-1: UL; UL 61010-1;CSA-C22.2; IEC/EN 61326; EN 61000-3-2; FCC CFR 47:Part 15, RoHS, Reach and Weee).
*Work with NPIEngineering teams, third party test houses and regulatory bodies to ensure that our products meet these standards.
*Compile & maintain the Technical Construction Files for all new and existing products.
*Facilitate or develop compliance guidelines and training classes for NPI engineering teams.

Proof of concept (POC), prototypes and production support:
*Support new product teams with build and test knowledge
*Supply hands on build and test support to the POC and prototype effort for new products
*Support released products with technical support prior to escalation to Engineering and the science community


Test Capability and compliance

*With the Final Test Team Leader coordinates the test strategy. This will cover test plan, test specification and test procedures where required.
*Create Statement of Works (SOWs) for test requirements and test equipment to be deployed or created within our supply base.
*Oversee test results from outsource partner for compliance. Ratify non conformances.
*Where applicable manage the equipment calibration and recall system.
*Analyze failure reports from the field and working with outsource partners modify test requirements in order to minimize eradicate future occurrences.



To be successful in this role the Compliance and EMC Test Lead will have the following skills experience and knowledge

* Industrial experience in mixed HWSW including most of the following:
*High-voltage switch-mode converters: DC-DC, DC-AC
*Practical circuit debugging and testing
*Compliance EMC, CE, CSA, UL
*Product development
*Compliance knowledge and experience EMC, CE, CSA, UL
*Ability to fault find from Schematics
*Proper use of appropriate test equipment and development tools
*Hands on, HWSW system prototype build and debug issues
*Ability to work alone and in small teams
