Mechanical Design Engineer - Hampshire/Berkshire border
The Mechanical Design Engineer will work for a leader in the design, manufacture and installation of instrumentation. The sensors produced are used in earthquake early warning systems, monitoring of volcanic activity and oil and gas exploration on land and at sea. The ideal candidate will have boundless enthusiasm for design and practical hands on experience of mechanical assemblies.
As a Precision Engineer you will enjoy a varied role, involved from an early stage with prototype designs within the Engineering department through the entire product development life cycle. The work environment is fast paced and one which strives to meet demanding deadlines.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Candidates should demonstrate their prioritisation and time management skills, how they have worked under their own initiative and as an effective team player on a project/task. My client are keen to learn something about the candidate other than their academic attributes looking specifically at their practical hobbies.
*degree in Mechanical Engineering
*2 years plus post degree relevant work experience
*experience as a designer using SolidWorks to scripting language level
*exposure to CAD workflow
*ability to program CNC machinery
*highly computer literate
*experience of managing a CAD database
*developing ERP interfaces, file Import/export and other system integration tasks
*SolidCAM or similar high-end CAM software
*experience of working in any of the following are highly desirable: Instrumentation manufacturing, Production Control Systems, Medical Instrumentation, and freelance design agencies
