In 1999, a weak link existed in the UK technology industry’s internal supply chain: there was no recruitment partner working in the best long term interests of the technology community’s membership. As a co-founder of IC Resources, I started the business with the vision of helping individuals (our candidates) and companies (our clients) to achieve their long term ambitions within a prosperous and exciting sector.
Staying true to our vision is the only real business decision we ever made or, now, make. Candidates love to have someone acting as their personal ‘agent’ and customers always value expertise and insight-led services. Our hard work and industry commitment have enabled us to become the recognised recruitment partner to the global technology community.
I now have the opportunity to focus on my professional passions, including:
At a personal level, I still manage to get myself up and down the basketball court occasionally and have re-engaged with the Questors Theatre after 13 years away from ‘the boards’. I am intrigued by the intrinsic transformational potential of silly hats.http://uk.linkedin.com/in/icexecutive
James’ career in recruitment started in 1996, so he has a wealth of experience in the industry. He is responsible for the overall performance of the company across all specialist divisions and for defining and implementing strategy and growth plans.
Working with the management team, a primary objective is to ensure delivery to clients and candidates is kept to the same high standard that helped establish IC Resources as the leading name within the industry. He builds on relationships created since the inception of the company and ensures newer partnerships are built on foundations of trust and honesty.
Outside the office he can be found regularly stuck on the M25 commuting between work and his new home by the beach in Broadstairs. Weekends are spent with the family, walking their dog, going for bike rides and taking his sons go karting.
James is particularly passionate about supporting the burgeoning micro pub scene in the Broadstairs area. It can be no coincidence that since moving to the area there’s been an explosion of profitable watering holes up and down the Kent coast.
Dan joined IC Resources in 2008 after 3 years working on contract recruitment in the engineering sector. He has overseen the rapid expansion of the contracts business and more lately assisted in the development of various permanent divisions.
He is looking forward to driving further company growth whilst maintaining the same values that have served the company so well since it’s inception.
Before joining us Dan undertook a business and media design degree at Southampton uni, graduating with a BA Hons and had planned a career in marketing. However, whilst waiting to officially graduate in 2005, he worked in a junior recruitment position for beer money!… the bug took hold, and the rest is history.
Having now spent over 10 years within the recruitment sector, Dan believes that it’s the experience of dealing with people all day, every day that keeps it interesting – it is a fantastic job.
After graduating from Bath University with a BSc/MEng, Adel started life as a design engineer before quickly realising that he preferred to be more directly involved with clients/customers. So he joined Memec as a field application engineer (FAE) and then held product marketing and global account management roles at Hitachi Europe (now Renesas). Following an MBA, he ventured into investment banking and consulting. A chance conversation in 2005 with Neil Dickins, led him into recruitment and joining IC Resources.
Adel initially led the growth of the Commercial team and is now responsible for client engagement and business development across IC Resources and IC Creative.
Family occupies his life outside of work, providing a taxi service to his two children, in addition to a regular round of golf and the odd game of poker.

After achieving his BSc (hons) Chemistry at Aberdeen University, James began work at the heart of the semiconductor industry as a process engineer for Mitel who became Zarlink, then X-FAB UK Ltd (nowadays Plessey). Prior to leaving James had become a project manager with responsibility internally for all new customer prototypes. Establishing customer relationships, handling timescale negotiations and an understanding of the peculiarities of different industry verticals have equipped him with a true understanding of the challenges faced by both his clients and candidates.
Since joining in 2008 James is now establishing a team responsible for hiring commercial professionals specifically within the semiconductor and electronics component community across Europe where he supports the majority of OEM’s and distribution companies in his industry.
In his spare time James is usually found dressed in rubber chasing fish about in a river or, if especially lucky, he can ditch the waders and chase after more exotic species in Florida or the Caribbean. But to balance the programme, and equip him with a decent level of ‘pub-chat’, he’s a true fan of Bath and England rugby where he has proven a direct correlation between Guinness consumption and his knowledge of the game.

Marta, a trilingual recruiter, has many years of first hand semiconductor industry experience both at distribution and OEM level .
Originally from Barcelona where she started her “accidental” semiconductors career at a young age, Marta then moved to Munich to join what was then a small German distributor called EBV Elektronik. She was part of the original team that grew EBV into a global distributor and now part of the Avnet Group. After becoming a mum and filled with curiosity, Marta had the opportunity to make the transition to manufacturing and joined Microchip, where she gained direct OEM experience and was lucky enough to get an insight in that new world.
Offering her clients and candidates true hands-on experience within the semiconductor industry Marta brings to her work a level of understanding that is hard to match.
Add to the mix an effervescent Spanish personality and a love of people, recruitment has been a natural transition to her and Marta has truly ‘found her calling’.
Marta enjoys life, friends and if not hard at work you will always find her with her friends or family. In late September you will always find her at the Oktoberfest, a tradition she has kept since leaving her much beloved city of Munich.
