A position for an Analog IC Layout Manager has become available with a company in Cambridge. In your position as Analog Layout Manager, you will lead a team of experienced layout designers and help to work on the management of resources and project plans.  You will work cross-functionally with design, program management, CAD, and process technologists and will be responsible for growing the capability of the team and developing and applying new layout methodologies. 

You be considered for this position you are industry degree qualified and experience in Analog IC Layout including 4 people management experience and the following skills and experiences:

  • Experience in leading a team of expert layout engineers with multiple successful product tape-outs
  • Generating , assessing and tracking layout schedules
  • Organise / plan and direct block work in remote sites
  • Practical hands-on experience in all aspects of layout design, verification and debug
  • Cadence layout-(G)XL and Caliber proficiency
  • Experience in floor planning and routing strategies
  • Experience of electrically aware design including EM/IR/ESD and constraints driven layout
  • Familiar with APR flow and generating DEF files
  • Familiar with Digital-on-Top, Mixed-Signal-on-Top, Innovus flows
  • Scripting for automating layout tasks
  • Demonstrated skills/knowledge of design revision control systems such as Cliosoft, Synchronicity or ICManage.
  • Able to generate and release final layout to full production
  • Understanding of package layout and bonding requirements
Further skills:
  • Strong analytical and debug skills for understanding and resolving all aspects of layout verification
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, and can build consensus between key stakeholders
  • Liaise cross-functionally with design, CAD, process technology and management
  • Drive continuous productivity improvements through improved work methodologies and tool features
  • Review and document layout together with design team
