{"id":201758,"date":"2026-08-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ic-resources.com\/jobs\/opto-mechanical-engineer-502408\/"},"modified":"2026-08-24T02:06:35","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T01:06:35","slug":"opto-mechanical-engineer-502408","status":"publish","type":"jobs","link":"https:\/\/ic-resources.com\/de\/jobs\/opto-mechanical-engineer-502408\/","title":{"rendered":"Opto Mechanical Engineer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Are you passionate about turning optical concepts into robust, manufacturable hardware?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">We\u2019re looking for an Opto Mechanical Engineer to design, analyse, prototype, and integrate precision optical and photonic assemblies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">What you\u2019ll be doing:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Design precision mechanical components and assemblies for optical systems, including mounts, housings, brackets and alignment stages using SolidWorks<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Use Zemax to model optical systems, assess tolerances and ensure mechanical designs meet optical performance requirements<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Translate optical requirements into practical, manufacturable mechanical designs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Carry out tolerance stack-ups and assess the impact of manufacturing variation on optical alignment and performance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Build and test prototypes in a hands-on laboratory environment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Support fibre-to-chip and free-space optical alignment and integration<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Investigate mechanical and thermal effects such as drift, deformation, stress and misalignment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Work closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers to ensure designs are suitable for production and assembly<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>What we\u2019re looking for:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Hands-on experience with SolidWorks for mechanical design and drafting<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Experience with Zemax or similar optical design and simulation software<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Strong understanding of optics fundamentals, including alignment, tolerancing, focusing and beam propagation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Experience in opto-mechanical, mechanical or optical engineering, either professionally or through substantial project work<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Experience with mechanical and optical tolerance analysis<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Comfortable working hands-on with prototypes, laboratory equipment and manufacturing processes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">A practical, methodical approach to problem solving and troubleshooting<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Apply today or contact Gemma for more information<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you passionate about turning optical concepts into robust, manufacturable hardware?
