The Power Systems Engineer will design and integrate power architectures for next generation unmanned systems. This Power Systems Engineer role involves hands on development of robust energy solutions for long duration, harsh condition operation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Responsibilities<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Architect power distribution and conversion systems for autonomous drones and remote sensor platforms<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Develop ruggedised uninterruptible power solutions and redundancy schemes for mission critical electronics<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Select components and design power modules suitable for sub zero and high vibration environments<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Perform simulation, analysis and validation of power circuits and energy storage subsystems<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Work with electronics, firmware and mechanical teams to ensure reliable system level power integration<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">&nbsp;Support environmental testing, field qualification and performance assessment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">&nbsp;Document designs, test plans and engineering reports for internal and external stakeholders<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Requirements<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Background in power electronics, energy systems or hardware design<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Experience in DC DC converters, battery systems, UPS design or harsh environment electronics<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Ability to develop system level architectures and work across multidisciplinary teams<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Practical testing, fault finding and validation experience desirable<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related discipline<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">If you\u2019re interested in the position of Power Systems Engineer, please apply or contact Chris Moffatt for more details.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Power Systems Engineer is required to join a specialist engineering team developing autonomous platforms for use in extreme Arctic environments.
