INTRODUCTION
We were approached in the winter of 2019 by an investment company and a consultant who had previously worked with us. They were looking for a partner to help build an RF company from scratch and IC Resources was selected based on previous work and our reputation in the RF Semiconductor market.
CHALLENGE
The initial challenges were three-fold;
- Find someone capable of leading and scaling up a RF Semiconductor company
- Help recruit several highly skilled design engineers capable of leading teams based on one main area of experience – Doherty Amplifier design
- Advise where best to locate this growing company.
SOLUTION
With this challenge in mind, we conducted market research to recommend the best location(s) to support the growth envisioned by the investors.
We also conducted in-depth technical searches to find the most suitable candidates, additionally providing detailed insights in terms of suitability both from a people management and company development perspective.
RESULT
Firstly we made three key hires in Systems Engineering, MMIC Design and Validation to support the technical leadership of the company, drive technology development and facilitate company growth.
Fast forward a year and half, we have made over 24 placements. Based on our initial recommendations a second site in the UK has been opened in Leeds with a team of 5 Engineers from various backgrounds to support the developing engineering challenges.
