This is an opportunity for a Lead Analog IC Designer to join a successful and established company involved in the design of high speed Analog and Mixed Signal ICs for the data communications market.
They currently seek an Analog IC design Lead engineer for their site located North of London and in this role you will take a senior role within a world class IC development team. This team develop transimpedance amplifier and laser driver ICs, operating from 10GHz to 30GHz+, that are fundamental to the growth of datacentres, 5G wireless and fibre to the home. Reporting directly to the Design Centre Manager, you will work with the existing team on the development and design of high speed IC products, from initial concept through to volume production.
In the role of the Analog IC Design Lead you will take a leadership role on IC design projects and will be responsible for ensuring the technical aspects of design and layout of commercially successful complete IC designs suitable for production through the whole design lifecycle, including interfacing to other stakeholders in marketing, technical support to applications, validation and test.
- Design of high speed IC products
- Production and delivery of IC circuit designs to specification
- Lead engineer with responsibility for delivering high performance IC product designs
- Provide technical leadership to junior design engineers

- Assessing product feasibility and schedules
- Undertaking multiple projects in parallel
- Preparing technical reviews and product documentation
A solid understanding is required in Analog/Mixed Signal IC Design in SiGe, BiCMOS technologies and/or CMOS. Experience is preferable in high speed multi gigabit design in opto electronic products i.e laser drivers or transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs).
The successful applicant will have 10+ years of experience in IC product design preferably for optical applications with experience of low power amplifier design up to 30GHz and beyond. You will have a proven track record of taking high performance, high speed IC designs from concept through to volume production, with a successful commercial outcome. Strong Cadence IC design flow and tools experience is required. Experience of HFSS, ADS and microwave modelling is desirable.
