Our client currently seeks a Principal RF IC Design Engineer to join a leading satellite communications company based in the Thames Valley, UK. In this role you will be responsible for the ownership, design and architecture of RF blocks. You will lead the layout activities and will also work on top level integration and optimisation of the chip.
In this role you will own a full RF IC block from preliminary design to post Tape out (Transmit path, Rx Path, LO generation) and will take part in system and RF IC spec architecture definitions. You will Participate in top level integration and optimisation of the full chip and will propose alternative implementation topologies, taking into account performance and power consumption requirements.
Industry degree qualified, the successful Senior RF IC Design Engineer will have a minimum of 10 years experience in RF IC Design in CMOS up to 30GHz including some or all of the following; PA (power amplifiers), LNAs, Mixers Filters, Phase Shifter, DACs, bandgaps, LDOs and switches. A strong knowledge on IC design CAD tools such as Cadence Virtuoso (Spectre RF) and Keysight ADS and demonstrable experience with EM simulators (Momentum, EMX) is required as well as experience in the use of LAB RF measurement equipment (Spectrum Analysers, Signal Generators, VNAs) with the ability to troubleshoot measurement issues.
Excellent communication skills in English and strong problem solving skills are required as well as the ability to work well within a team.
