Director of Physical Design

Our client, a successful multinational ASIC Design services company based in Reading is seeking a Director of Physical Design.

This company is a successful multinational company delivering ASIC design services to a broad base of customers worldwide.

The Director of Physical Design will take the reigns of the company’s backend design practice and manage the delivery of cross-disciplinary projects. The team, which encompasses physical design engineers as well as DFT and analog, is set to grow over the coming year, and the Director of Physical Design will be responsible for managing and recruiting into the group. He/she will establish the Backend “eco system” – partners, suppliers (FABs, EDA vendors), etc. This role will be a mix of people-management, leading pre-sales activities and hands-on work.

The right candidate will be an experienced Digital Physical Design expert with a proven leadership background.

The right candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the RTL-GDSII flow, and be capable of effectively managing project delivery, in terms of quality, cost and schedule.

Hybrid working is available from our client’s Berkshire design centre, which is easily accessible from the M4.
