IC Resources is seeking a Machine Learning Researcher to join our client's team in Zurich. The successful candidate will engage in pioneering research to apply machine learning techniques to enhance networking systems and protocols, contributing to the development of innovative technologies in a collaborative research environment. Please note this is a fully onsite opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Research in Machine Learning for Networking: Conduct advanced research on using machine learning to optimise networking systems, including the interaction between computing devices, memory, and peripherals.
  • Algorithm Development: Design, develop, and evaluate machine learning algorithms to improve system resource management, network performance, latency, and power efficiency.
  • Technological Innovation: Innovate new machine learning solutions for networking systems and explore future technological directions.
  • Academic Contribution: Produce and present research papers at leading conferences and write white papers to share current developments and future research insights.
  • Research Collaboration: Establish and maintain research partnerships with top universities and academics specialising in networking systems, computer architecture, and high-performance computing.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior researchers and interns, fostering a collaborative and educational research environment.
Essential Experience:
  • Educational Background: PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a specialisation in Machine Learning.
  • Research Excellence: Demonstrated experience in publishing research in prominent conferences or high-impact journals related to machine learning, networking systems, or computer architecture.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Domain Knowledge: Strong research experience or knowledge in areas such as:
    • Machine learning models for workload characterisation
    • Distributed machine learning and deep neural networks (DNN)
    • Memory sub-system management
    • Network architecture for datacenter servers
    • High-performance computing systems
  • Communication Skills: Excellent skills in intercultural communication, coordination, and presentation, with the ability to effectively report and collaborate in a research setting.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities with a collaborative mindset and the capacity to work independently.
