My client, a leading manufacturer of interconnect electronic components is looking to hire a Market Development Engineer to support the Nordics region. The Market Development Manager is tasked with identifying growth account targets, both from the existing customer list and new accounts. This role involves implementing sales support strategies and fostering successful relationships to drive sales growth. Additionally, the Market Development Manager will uncover growth opportunities across the territory in various markets, offering local economic insights and contributing to the formulation of strategic marketing plans. These plans encompass the analysis of customer segments, competitor evaluations, business trends, and vertical market prospects.

This role is based remotely in Scandinavia, preferably Denmark, Sweden or Norway. 

Responsibilities
  • Foster relationships with new and existing customers within the designated territory to uncover new opportunities.
  • Develop a strategy for key accounts and prioritise potential opportunities.
  • Establish best practices for managing account interest and subsequent follow-up.
  • Utilise Salesforce effectively to research accounts, identify key contacts, and engage with potential customers.
  • Collaborate with customers on design-in opportunities and the resolution of technical issues.
  • Assist in educating the sales channel about new products and technical selling features.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to employ innovative and strategic approaches to target accounts based on the territory.
  • Provide support to the sales team, from qualified opportunities through the quotation process to the final purchase order.
  • Build strong professional relationships within both the Sales and Marketing Departments.
  • Identify market needs and communicate market-based ideas to the Marketing and Product Development teams.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and expand technical knowledge of competitor products and applications.
  • Regularly report sales activities to management
Requirements 
  • Experience in a sales role or a related field that involves selling or identifying new opportunities is desired.
  • Knowledge of industry products, competitors, and technological advancements within the industry is preferred.
  • Self-motivation is crucial, as this position involves remote work from a home-based office.
  • Expect to travel throughout the area approximately 3-4 days per week.
  • Prior knowledge of the electronics industry is highly preferred.
  • Sales experience is highly desirable, with approximately 2 years of relevant experience.
  • A current and valid driver's license is required.
  • Preferred location within the main customer base area is desirable
  •  Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on engineering, business/commerce, or communications is preferred
  • Fluency in English and one other Scandinavian language (Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish) is essential.
