Optical Engineer - Freelance

IC Resources is working with a France based client specialising in high-end instrumentation for critical and scientific applications. They are looking for an experienced and innovative Optical Consultant to join their team and assist with their exciting upcoming projects.

The Role

• Onsite 2-3 days a week in the Provence region
• 6-12 month contract
• Highly competitive hourly rate

The Requirements

• Ideally you will have a background of working in aerospace projects
• Maintenance and development of complex optical systems
• Experience in plasma diagnostics, target alignment, and intervention systems.
• Technical expertise in system control, optical alignment, calibration, and maintenance following procedures, as well as drafting and updating technical documents.
• Experience working in free space communications or earth orbit observations is key
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across and with different teams
