Optical Engineers

This is an exciting opportunity for an Optical Design Engineer to join the the site in Devon of an industry-leading organisation, working in the R&D team for fibre optical applications. This Optical Engineer is expected to design and develop fibre-optic components, modules and sub-systems. More specifically high power fibre lasers and amplifiers. 

Requirements:

• A PhD in Engineering or Physics
• Experience in fibre optics, high-power fibre lasers
• Experience in design and development of fibre-optic transmission systems
• Ideal candidate will have worked on the development of high-power fibre amplifiers. 
• Experience with simulation tools, eg. Zemax, MATLAB, COMSOL or similar
• Ability to relocate to Devon area to be onsite with team
