IC Resources is working with an Oxfordshire based start-up who is looking for a freelance Optical Systems engineer to assist with their exciting wireless, space-based technology projects.

- Outside IR35
- Onsite 3 days a week in Oxfordshire
- 6 month contract
- Skilled in defining requirements for optical systems, conducting modeling, and performing trade studies to guide design decisions.
- Proficient in optical design, optimisation, and tolerance using Zemax, with experience in sequential and non-sequential design.
- Hands-on experience designing and executing tests for optical systems.
- Knowledgeable in technical project planning and systems engineering, with experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience designing complex electro-optical systems for extreme environments, including optomechanical, electronic, and software integration.
- Familiar with adaptive optics, turbulence modeling, high-power lasers, optical instrument calibration, and free-space optical communication components like lasers, fibers, and detectors.
