Principal Firmware Engineer

This multi-national developer of cellular modems is urgently seeking a Principal Firmware Engineer to be based at their R+D Centre in Dresden. The Principal Firmware Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing PHY Layer control firmware and embedded software aimed at emerging 5G NR technologies. The Principal Firmware Engineer will be involved in all aspects of the software lifecycle including initial specification and architecture design. Working closely with cross-functional design teams the Principal Firmware Engineer will be designing and developing tomorrow’s technology.

You will have extensive firmware and embedded software experience gained developing Layer 1 firmware and software aimed at 5G communications applications. Your skills should include a track record developing DSP software, LTE / 5G NR PHY Layer firmware and in-depth exposure to 3GPP specifications. Coupled with this you will have excellent C and MATLAB experience and be used to problem solving and troubleshooting complex issues.
