Principal MMIC Engineer

A leading semiconductor company is expanding its RF engineering team and seeks an experienced Principal MMIC Engineer. The role involves the design and development of high-performance RF Power Amplifiers for use in 5G, satellite communications, and aerospace/defense applications.

The Principal MMIC Engineer will have extensive experience in MMIC design, particularly with GaN on SiC technology, and proficiency in advanced simulation tools.

Key Responsibilities as Principal MMIC Engineer:

• Lead MMIC design projects from simulation to tapeout.
• Design and layout GaN on SiC MMICs, focusing on power amplifiers.
• Conduct and coordinate characterisation of test structures.
• Collaborate closely with product engineering teams to ensure successful product releases.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Engineering.
• 12+ years of experience in MMIC design.
• Expertise with GaN technology.
• Proficiency in RF design software (e.g., Keysight ADS, Cadence AWR).
• Strong knowledge of RF testing, stability criteria, and thermal effects on design.
