We are currently working with a leading telecommunications company based in Reading looking to bring in a Principal RF Engineer to join their well established, thriving Hardware team.
In this position as a Principal RF Engineer you will be expected to review Hardware designs and work full circle on all product requirement and development from design through to test and investigation. You will also be expected to work on System Board level design and provide technical RF expertise to other members of the Hardware team and other teams across the business. In addition to this you must be willing to mentor and assist junior engineers with their progression.

Requirements:
- Engineering degree/MSc in RF, Maths or Engineering.
- Experience in RF and baseband testing, system design and integration.
- Troubleshoot and solve RF problems.
- Demonstrate analytical expertise by providing the needed conclusions.
- Understanding RF performance, noise, dynamic range, RF matching, filtering, sensitivity, spurious emission, EVM, CINR.
- Understanding system blocks calibration, gain profiles, eLNA, duplexors.
- Understanding of conducted and radiated measurements.
- Understanding of LTE/NBIOT/5GRF testing.
- Familiarity with controlling lab equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analysers, vector signal analysers, multi meters, oven, power supplies is needed.
- RF matching, S-Parameters, Return loss, Impedance, decoupling, isolating RF blocks.
- Layout and Schematics review, RF design constraints
- Understanding RF TX and RX performance degradation causes and interconnections.
- 3GPP standard awareness
- Analytical skill
