Position: Product Quality Engineer

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to manage and drive product quality and reliability activities to ensure their products meet the required specifications and quality goals. The successful candidate will work closely with the product development team and be responsible for managing the product lifecycle from feasibility to mass production, ensuring Design for Reliability, Manufacturability, and Testability. Some international travel may be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the early stages of product life cycle to ensure Design for Reliability (DfR), Manufacturability (DfM) and Testability (DfT).
  • Take a leading role in manufacturing risk assessments in the early stage of product development, involving stake holders and keeping them informed.
  • Manage change control of product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Define and manage sensor component qualifications plans, including gap analysis, specification of sample test methods and pass/fail criteria, schedule planning, data analysis and reporting.
  • Organise and manage qualification activities at external test service providers.
  • Ramp new products released from NPI to production while monitoring performance and driving delivery, quality, yield and cost improvements.
  • Maintain compliance of manufacturing quality performance to product specification including review of supplier process/material qualification data, investigation of product failures and resolution of quality issues.
  • Monitor product incoming and outgoing QC, identify and quality issues, determine their root causes and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Create a culture of continual improvement for product quality and yield.
  • Support internal and external supplier audits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering or Science subject.
  • Experience working as a semiconductor/MEMS quality engineer, ideally for automotive products.
  • Familiar with international quality standards and systems such as JEDEC, MIL, AEC, ISO and their application.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience of quality systems, quality tools & techniques.
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes including process controls and monitors.
 Desirable for the role:
  • Knowledge in automotive quality standard such as, AEC-Q100 and their application.
  • Familiar with APQP, PPAP and safe launch processes.
  • Experience of debugging analogue and digital electronics devices.
  • Knowledge in medical quality standard such as JEDEC JESD47 and ISO60601.
