Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Yateley, Hampshire

I am working with an established company that has been writing the future of underwater technology for over 50 years. They engineer, manufacture, service and support solutions that transform what’s possible in offshore energy, maritime defence and ocean science.

They are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their team.

Salary: Circa £65k

The Role:

The Senior Embedded Software Engineer is expected to have deep knowledge of one or more technical stacks. They will design, develop, and debug complex embedded systems utilising a broad range of communication protocols and peripherals.

The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be a team player and collaborate closely with other members across the engineering department to enable the fusion of hardware and software to add value to the products.

For this Embedded Software Engineering role, we are looking for:

• Understanding of real-time operating systems
• Able to code in C & C++
• Experience of developing for and debugging on Linux based embedded devices, inc. cross-compiling for different hardware architectures, virtualisation and docker concepts
• Knowledge of Buildroot or Yocto based systems
• Interest in sustainable maritime innovation
