Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

I am currently working with a Southampton-based company, that focuses on high-performance fibre lasers and photonic crystal fibres.

They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to be responsible for mechanical development for laser products through the entire product lifecycle.

They are looking for an exceptional Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a great team of engineers. As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

• Support prototype assembly, test, and drive design improvements
• Ensure product compliance and certifications are according to standards.
• Work closely with systems integration groups.
• Interact with project and product stakeholders.
• Take the lead on some work packages.

What’s required for a successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer?

• Ability to mentor other team members.
• Experience and knowledge of optical systems or lasers
• Experience in hi-tech equipment
• Expert in mechanical design and drawing standards.
• Hands-on skills
