Responsibilities as a Senior RF Engineer:
- Specify appropriate RF electronic components and equipment, including designing bespoke circuitry to meet performance, time, and cost constraints.
- Perform design calculations and simulations.
- Produce high-quality system diagrams, RF schematics, and PCB layouts.
- Organise the manufacture of prototype systems.
- Test, debug, and improve complex RF and optical setups.
- Analyse experimental results.
- Provide input to project timelines and budgets.
Your Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Degree-level qualification in Electronics, Microwave, Physics, or a related subject.
- Understanding of high-frequency, RF, microwave, and low-noise design techniques.
- PCB Design experience.
- Ability to apply knowledge to new and unfamiliar technologies.
- Proficiency with a wide range of test and measurement equipment.
- Ability to modify and repair PCBs with small surface-mount components.
- High level of attention to detail to deliver designs that are right the first time.
- Experience designing electronics for high-performance scientific applications.
- Familiarity with optoelectronic devices such as semiconductor lasers and photodetectors.
- Experience working as part of highly multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with electromagnetic field modelling software.
