Technical Artist - Unity

Location: Remote - Europe

Job Type: Contract (Days worked, days paid), likely 2 month initial term

Responsibilities:

Shader Programming:
  • Develop and implement custom shaders using Unity's ShaderLab language.
  • Optimise shaders for performance across a variety of platforms and hardware configurations.
Artistic Integration:
  • Collaborate with artists to seamlessly integrate visually stunning assets into Unity.
  • Ensure the visual fidelity and artistic vision are maintained throughout the development process.
Technical Development:
  • Bridge the gap between art and programming by creating tools and scripts to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
Pipeline Optimisation:
  • Contribute to the development and optimisation of art pipelines within Unity.
  • Identify and implement improvements to streamline asset creation and integration processes.
Requirements:

Technical Proficiency:
  • Strong proficiency in Unity3D with a focus on shader programming using ShaderLab.
  • Solid understanding of graphics programming and rendering techniques.
Artistic Skills:
  • Background in art with an eye for visual aesthetics and design principles.
  • Ability to work with artists to achieve a balance between visual quality and performance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimise visual elements for various platforms.
Coding Skills:
  • Proficient in C# programming language.
  • Experience developing tools, scripts, and plugins to improve workflow.
