{"id":103650,"date":"2026-04-15T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ic-resources.com\/jobs\/backend-software-engineer-go-python-aws-443275\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T06:08:24","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T05:08:24","slug":"backend-software-engineer-go-python-aws-443275","status":"publish","type":"jobs","link":"https:\/\/ic-resources.com\/en\/jobs\/backend-software-engineer-go-python-aws-443275\/","title":{"rendered":"Backend Software Engineer &#8211; Go, Python, AWS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Global software and engineering technology company is looking to expand its software engineering team in Cambridge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">You will be working on a range of new development projects for a significant public facing web\/cloud platform that is used extensively across the globe by the engineering industries&nbsp;and communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">The are looking to hire Backend Software Engineers who can work as part of cross functional teams that design, develop, and maintain scalable web services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Key skills\/experience required:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Proven experience of at least 5+ years in web service development and system integration<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Understanding software architecture principles and design patterns related to web services<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Knowledge of database design and development using relational databases<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Problem-solving and analytical skills; able to understand complex business processes and system workflows<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Able to communicate clearly with other engineers and non-technical stakeholders<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">A strong sense of product ownership.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Technical expertise required:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Advanced knowledge of back-end development using Go and\/or Python.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Designing web services with \u201cTop-Down\u201d\/ \u201cSchema-First\u201d approach. Having experience in GraphQL is a significant plus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Relational Database (e.g. MySQL) and distributed database (e.g. AWS RedShift, Snowflake)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Distributed systems<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP) &nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Containerised development<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">CI\/CD<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Kubernetes&nbsp;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Please note this is an onsite role, so you will need to be happy to commute to their Cambridge office 5 days per week.
