Our client is a space engineering organisation developing electronic hardware for satellite communications applications. Its Farnborough site includes an electronics laboratory supporting engineering and hardware verification activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The AIT Test Technician<\/strong> will provide practical laboratory support, ensuring equipment, test benches and electronic hardware are prepared, maintained and available for engineering use. The position combines hands-on electronics work with equipment calibration, stock control and accurate laboratory documentation.<\/span><\/p>\n

What you will be working on<\/span><\/h3>\n

The role covers the day-to-day preparation and organisation of the electronics laboratory, including:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Setting up and configuring laboratory equipment for engineering and verification activities<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Maintaining test benches, cables, fixtures and associated hardware<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Assisting engineers with hardware installation, assembly and troubleshooting<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Carrying out soldering and PCB rework where required<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Coordinating equipment calibration, preventive maintenance and repair<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Tracking equipment usage, service schedules and calibration records<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Managing stocks of cables, connectors, adapters, electronic components and laboratory consumables<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Maintaining laboratory procedures, work instructions, equipment registers and engineering records<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The AIT Test Technician<\/strong> will also support routine laboratory maintenance and ensure that ESD handling and wider laboratory safety procedures are followed.<\/span><\/p>\n

    What our client is looking for<\/span><\/h3>\n

    For this AIT Test Technician<\/strong> position, our client is looking for someone with experience in:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Working within an electronics, test or engineering laboratory<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Soldering and PCB rework<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Assembling and troubleshooting electronic hardware<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Electronic components and commonly used laboratory equipment<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Maintaining test benches, cables, fixtures or similar laboratory hardware<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Equipment calibration, maintenance records or inventory control<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Following ESD handling and laboratory safety procedures<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Applicants should hold a Diploma or Certificate in Electronics, or a related discipline. The position also requires someone able to maintain accurate records, organise equipment and manage several practical laboratory tasks effectively.<\/span><\/p>\n
