The work is technically challenging, commercially relevant and supported by strong internal RF, microwave, systems and test capability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">As a <strong>Senior MMIC Design Engineer<\/strong>, you will take ownership of MMIC development from initial architecture and circuit design through to fabrication, testing and production release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Your work will include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Designing and laying out MMICs using GaAs, GaN and InP technologies<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Developing LNAs, power amplifiers, gain blocks, frequency converters, attenuators and multipliers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Selecting suitable semiconductor processes for new products<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Completing circuit simulation, optimisation and design verification<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Working directly with semiconductor foundries throughout fabrication<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Supporting thermal analysis, reliability assessments and device validation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Producing test specifications and characterising devices using RF probe stations and laboratory equipment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Contributing to technical reviews and supporting less experienced engineers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">What they are looking for<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Our client is looking for someone with strong commercial MMIC design experience and a track record of taking devices from concept through fabrication and verification.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">You should have:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Industrial experience designing MMICs within a semiconductor environment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Strong experience with RF amplifiers, LNAs or frequency-conversion circuits<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Experience using GaAs and\/or GaN HEMT technologies<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Hands-on RF measurement and device characterisation capability<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">A good understanding of microwave and millimetre-wave communication systems<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Experience with WIN Semiconductor processes, products above 37GHz or mentoring other engineers would be useful, but is not essential.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Why consider it?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">This <strong>Senior MMIC Design Engineer<\/strong> position offers the opportunity to work on genuine millimetre-wave products used in next-generation space, defence and communication systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">The role is based in <strong>Sedgefield, County Durham<\/strong>, with hybrid working available.
