Spinning out of a leading UK university, currently hardware-led and building out its software capability from scratch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>The role<\/strong>: Own the software-side modelling and benchmarking that proves the system works, working closely with the CTO.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>What you&#8217;ll do:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Own the software model (&#8220;digital twin&#8221;) used to evaluate system behaviour ahead of dedicated hardware<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Build agentic AI and GraphRAG workloads showing measurable system-level improvements<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Build and maintain a benchmark suite (latency, GPU utilisation, token reduction, throughput, cost per query)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Design experiments isolating the impact of the semantic memory layer on inference performance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Develop enterprise knowledge graph datasets and evaluation methodologies<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Work with hardware\/systems teams to keep software models aligned with hardware capability<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Generate evidence to support pilots, fundraising, and technical validation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>What we&#8217;re looking for:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Commercial experience in AI systems, retrieval, or AI infrastructure, having shipped production software<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Hands-on experience with agentic pipelines, LLM fine-tuning, RAG\/GraphRAG, or knowledge graphs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Strong Python, comfortable across ML, distributed systems, and performance engineering<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Track record building benchmarks\/eval frameworks with real rigour<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Systems thinker, high agency, comfortable with ambiguity<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Strong communicator able to translate technical results into clear evidence<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Please contact Charles Duran at IC Resources.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Machine Learning Engineer, AI Startup (Edinburgh, hybrid, UK-wide considered) An early-stage AI infrastructure company building a persistent, high-speed knowledge layer for agentic AI, letting thousands of AI agents query a shared knowledge base concurrently.
