This is a highly technical leadership position, where you have ownership of the system architecture and technical development direction of their advanced laser technology.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;font-size: 14px\">As Chief Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of Engineers and Scientists, working from R&amp;D through to real-world deployment.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;font-size: 14px\">This is an onsite position, based in Munich.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;font-size: 14px\"><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 11pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Lead the technical development and direction of an advanced laser drilling system from R&amp;D through to field deployment.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Own the system architecture and make key engineering decisions across optics, optomechanics and the wider system.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Lead the development and integration of complex optical and optomechanical systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Work closely with mechanical, thermal, electronics and sensor engineers to develop the complete system.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Remain hands-on with design, testing, troubleshooting and technical problem solving.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Identify and resolve complex engineering challenges across the system.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Support and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and helping to develop the optics team.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Potentially take responsibility for leading the optics team, depending on experience and capability.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 11pt\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;font-size: 14px\"><span>Drive the transition of technology from laboratory development into reliable operation in real-world environments.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;font-size: 14px\"><strong><span>Requirements:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0px;margin-bottom: 0px;padding-inline-start: 48px\">\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, background in optics, optical engineering or a closely related discipline.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Extensive experience developing complex laser (CW), or high-power optical systems, preferably in the kW range.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Strong depth across optics and optomechanics, with a broad understanding of wider engineering disciplines.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Arial, sans-serif;color: #000000;white-space: pre\">\n<p style=\"background-color: #ffffff;margin-top: 0pt;margin-bottom: 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;font-family: Tahoma\">Demonstrable experience working with the mechanical structures and supporting systems surrounding complex laser
