{"id":226907,"date":"2026-09-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ic-resources.com\/jobs\/mechanisms-functional-manager-517965\/"},"modified":"2026-10-18T14:17:42","modified_gmt":"2026-10-18T13:17:42","slug":"mechanisms-functional-manager-517965","status":"publish","type":"jobs","link":"https:\/\/ic-resources.com\/en\/jobs\/mechanisms-functional-manager-517965\/","title":{"rendered":"Mechanisms Functional Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">We&#8217;re looking for a Mechanisms Engineering Manager to lead and develop our mechanisms engineering capability, combining technical leadership, people development and strategic engineering with hands-on problem-solving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">What you&#8217;ll be doing<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Lead and develop mechanisms engineering teams, supporting technical excellence and professional growth<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Oversee work package delivery, engineering performance, technical risks and resource planning<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Leads and Mechanisms Experts to deliver high-quality project outcomes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Develop the mechanisms capability roadmap and identify future product development and skills requirements<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Support the investigation and debugging of complex electro-mechanical hardware issues when required<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">What we&#8217;re looking for<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">A successful track record in spacecraft engineering or another high-reliability engineering sector, ideally involving electro-mechanical or mechanisms-based systems<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Experience diagnosing and resolving issues across hardware, component interfaces, software interactions and firmware, particularly within electro-mechanical assemblies or mechanisms<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">A mechanical design background, including experience with stress-critical components, precision tolerancing and drafting, materials selection and manufacturing methods<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skills<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Proven management and leadership skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Strong technical understanding within your engineering discipline<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Knowledge of mechanisms and mechanism components, such as bearings, actuators, transmissions and feedback devices, and their role within the wider system<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Excellent communication and interpersonal skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Self-motivated, creative and highly detail-oriented<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">A strong commitment to delivery and engineering quality<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">A collaborative approach, with a genuine desire to support, guide and develop others<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Experience with SolidWorks or similar, ANSYS, MATLAB and Microsoft Office would be advantageous<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Apply or contact Gemma for more details.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re looking for a Mechanisms Engineering Manager to lead and develop our mechanisms engineering capability, combining technical leadership, people development and strategic engineering with hands-on problem-solving.
