{"id":251039,"date":"2026-10-29T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-29T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ic-resources.com\/jobs\/process-development-engineer-back-end-538351\/"},"modified":"2026-11-07T14:10:23","modified_gmt":"2026-11-07T14:10:23","slug":"process-development-engineer-back-end-538351","status":"publish","type":"jobs","link":"https:\/\/ic-resources.com\/en\/jobs\/process-development-engineer-back-end-538351\/","title":{"rendered":"Process Development Engineer (Back-end)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Our innovative new client is currently searching for a&nbsp;Process Development Engineer to establish and develop manufacturing processes for advanced superconducting interconnects, from initial concept through to prototype assemblies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Working closely with specialist external suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will develop reliable assembly processes, oversee prototype builds and support the introduction of in-house manufacturing capabilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise in advanced packaging, process development and supplier management, within a fast-paced technology development environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Key responsibilities<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>Process development:<\/strong> Define manufacturing processes, workflows, work instructions and acceptance criteria, developing a roadmap towards scalable production<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>Prototype manufacturing:<\/strong> Coordinate external suppliers and process trials involving flip-chip bonding, bumping, substrate handling and advanced assembly techniques<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>Equipment introduction:<\/strong> Specify, select, procure, commission and operate specialist bonding, inspection and metrology equipment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>Process optimisation:<\/strong> Review prototype results, support testing and failure analysis, resolve manufacturing issues and implement improvements<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>Cross-functional collaboration:<\/strong> Work closely with engineering teams to translate system requirements into practical manufacturing solutions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\"><strong>Knowledge transfer:<\/strong> Build effective supplier relationships and ensure process knowledge and learning are retained internally<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">An experienced, hands-on process engineer with a background in advanced semiconductor packaging or microelectronics assembly. You will have experience taking complex assemblies from technical requirements through to working prototypes, coordinating external manufacturing partners and resolving process challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">You should be comfortable working in laboratory, cleanroom and supplier environments, with the ability to operate effectively in an evolving technology development programme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Essential requirements<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">PhD or relevant Master&#8217;s degree, with at least five years&#8217; relevant hands-on industry experience<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Background in semiconductor packaging, microelectronics assembly, MEMS packaging, photonics assembly or a related discipline<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Practical knowledge of one or more of the following:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Flip-chip bonding<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Solder bumping<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Die attach<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Wafer-level processing<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Precision alignment<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Experience managing technical development activities with external fabrication, bonding or packaging suppliers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Experience operating or specifying process equipment, such as flip-chip bonders, optical inspection systems, profilometers or X-ray inspection tools<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Comfortable working hands-on in laboratory, cleanroom or supplier environments<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Strong communication and stakeholder management skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Professional proficiency in English.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;font-size: 14px\">Please contact Rachel Anderson for further details.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our innovative new client is currently searching for a&nbsp;Process Development Engineer to establish and develop manufacturing processes for advanced superconducting interconnects, from initial concept through to prototype assemblies.
