My client based in Cambridge is seeking an Optical Engineer with strong industry experience in geometric and reflective waveguide design to support the development of advanced augmented-reality (AR) waveguide systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

This role is suited to an engineer with a proven commercial track record who can take ownership of waveguide design work and contribute directly to the delivery of a new product currently under development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Key responsibilities<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Design and develop geometric and reflective optical waveguides for AR applications<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Perform hands-on optical modelling, simulation, optimisation, and validation<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Translate system requirements into manufacturable optical designs<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of optical engineers on product development<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Support prototype evaluation, performance analysis, and iterative improvement<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Required experience<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Non-negotiable industry experience in a commercial optical engineering environment<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Demonstrable <\/strong>hands-on waveguide design experience<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Evidence of participation in at least 1\u20132 full design cycles (concept through validation\/production support)<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Strong background in optical design tools and practical implementation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
