As a company, we feel very fortunate to have emerged from 2020 in robust health. This year it seems right to eschew corporate gifts and Christmas parties; instead we’ve decided to support a variety of charities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE FELIX PROJECT<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

This Christmas we are donating over 20,000 meals to The Felix Project<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The Felix Project collects fresh, nutritious food that cannot be sold. They deliver this surplus food to charities and schools so they can provide healthy meals to help the most vulnerable in our society. Right now, millions of people in the UK regularly experience hunger. Yet tonnes of surplus fresh food is thrown away every day.<\/p>\n

The charity is named after a wonderful little boy, Felix Byam Shaw, who died of meningitis suddenly. HIs family established The Felix Byam Shaw Foundation so that the kindness and compassion that defined him will live on. Click here<\/a> to find out more or how you can help.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

VICTORIA’S PROMISE<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Victoria’s Promise<\/a> is close to our heart. It is charity dedicated to supporting young women through cancer, whilst striving to prevent people from getting cancer in the first place.<\/p>\n

In 2018 our colleague and friend Anna Cassell passed away after a short battle with cancer. Anna joined IC Resources in December 2013 and from day one she brightened up the office with her positive attitude and love for life. She very quickly became an integral part of the IC Resources family. Victoria’s Promise supported Anna and her young family through her illness and provided them with valuable support.  Click here to find out more or how you can help.<\/p>\n

Despite not being able to get out and fundraise Anna’s colleagues have raised and over £1,500 for Victoria’s Promise<\/a> this year and we have lots planned for 2021. Watch this space…<\/p>\n

WHAT’S CLOSE TO YOUR HEART?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We recently gave 3 people the chance to win a £1,000 donation to the charity of thier choice. The winners were picked at random on Monday 21st December and are as follows…..<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Randy Perkins-Smart – Randy's £1,000 donation goes to the UK Mastocytosis Support Group UK<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

As a small charity supporting people with the rare diseases mastocytosis, mast cell activation syndrome and hereditary alpha tryptasaemia, they provide education to the medical community about these conditions, support patients and their families directly through support forums and helplines. As well as supporting medical researchers who working to improve diagnosis and treatment of these diseases.  This year has been particularly challenging, as patients have needed additional support with concerns about how having COVID might affect and be affected by their underlying diagnosis of one of these conditions.  And the constraints on everyone from the pandemic have made it more difficult for people to do community fundraising projects.<\/p>\n

Natasha Willett – Natasha's £1,000 donation goes to the Castle School Cambridge<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Castle is an all area special school for children with additional learning needs based in Cambridge. With provision for 185 students between 2 and 19 years of age, the school is a warm and welcoming place and strives to provide their pupils with a bespoke experience through their excellent staff and purpose built facilities. The school is currently fundraising for the creation of a new soft play area for their students.<\/p>\n

Farid Kazi – Farid's £1,000 donation goes to the Harrow MS Therapy Centre<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Since 1984, Harrow MS<\/abbr> Therapy Centre has helped people in the north west London area with multiple sclerosis to improve their quality of life. They offer physiotherapy<\/a>, oxygen treatment<\/a>, and other therapies<\/a> such as chiropody, yoga, reflexology, and massage. As well as providing support, information and advice, to help people understand and live with MS and its symptoms<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For 21 years, our raison d’etre has been to be an active and valued member of the technology community. We support industry events, as well as sponsor prizes to recognise up-and-coming students and exceptional companies. Our founder, Neil Dickins, sits on the board of UKESF<\/a>, an organisation putting practical electronics and computer science kits into the hands of GSCE and A Level students<\/a>.  We also support NMI (and now their parent, Techworks<\/a>), and we were instrumental in shaping government policy with regard to skill-shortage occupations.
