I am seeking for an experienced DevOps Engineer for a 6-month contract to join my client’s Infrastructure team based in their head office in Cambridge.

My client is a market leading global company in the semiconductor industry with offices in UK, Asia and Europe. You will be surrounded by multinational organisation and surrounded by a vibrant community of enthusiastic engineers.

You as a DevOps Engineer will help the team to deliver enabling tools to their engineering teams. The team within the Development Solutions Group (DSG) is responsible for developing and operating services on OpenStack such as Vault, Jenkins, SonarQuabe with monitoring using Zabbix, Prometheus and Grafana.

I am looking for someone who has a true passion for Support Jenkins Jobs transition and optimisation.

Job Requirements:
This includes

  • Convert current Jenkins jobs to Pipeline
  • Optimize and reduce the number of jobs
  • Improve Jenkins Configuration as Code.
  • Improve Jenkins Jobs visualisation dashboard.
  • Create thorough technical documentation
  • Support for the engineering teams

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Perfect knowledge of Jenkins pipeline both scripting and declarative
  • Proficient experience and knowledge of Jenkins Groovy dialect
  • Knowledge of basic Linux Systems Administration. Both Ubuntu and RHEL.
  • Knowledge of basic Windows Systems Administration.
  • Expert knowledge in Python, bash and PowerShell scripting.
  • Version control and code review systems such as Git, Gerrit
  • Proficient with Open Source DB like MariaDB and PostgreSQL.
  • Reporting and result visualization tooling, e.g. Tableau, Kibana

On top of this, you will need to have experience with at least one of the following technology areas:

  • Automation tools such as Puppet
  • Software build and test solutions such as Jenkins
  • Development board build/test farm
  • Monitoring, Metrics and results visualisation tooling
