Job summary:

As a procurement manager, you will be positioned between the commercial teams and the suppliers, ensuring that all materials and components required for manufacturing, R&D and finished goods are sourced responsibly, reliably, and at the best price. You will be responsible for hands on End-to-End procurement, including but not limited to: domestic and international sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, creation and implementation of policy, and proactive supplier management, with the ability to build new processes within the Procurement function. 

  • New global supplier creation, transition, and support, whilst also establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key domestic and international suppliers.
  • Contract creation, negotiation and management.
  • Support the development of processes to ensure compliance related to key supply chain procurement requirements such as quality control, storage and distribution for chemicals, biologics, medical devices and various components.
  • Review, amend and improve supplier performance and contract management tools
  • Regularly meet with suppliers and perform site visits to develop comprehensive knowledge and insights.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessment of procurement/supplier activities to identify points of vulnerability and devise remedial plans.
  • Delivery of improvements in procurement strategy, execution, and commercial results.
  • Computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft and implementation of procurement systems (MRP, ERP etc.) Experience in stock management systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end supply chain interactions and interdependencies.
  • Knowledge of and procurement experience in the regulatory requirements, linked to procurement within the chemical industry, pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • Experience within a strategic purchasing / procurement role in a manufacturing environment and understanding of manufacturing processes and quality controls, multi component BOM management.
