Graduate Mechanical Engineer

My client, a successful growing business based in Surrey, is looking for a graduate Mechanical Engineer to join the dynamic team. The role will involve:

*Creating and refining mechanical parts and assembly drawings

*Performing hand calculations and finite element analyses

*Discussing and resolving technically complex problems with manufacturers, suppliers and customers

*Preparing for design reviews

*Producing outline designs giving consideration to implications such as cost, safety and time

*Liaising with suppliers with regard to cost, quality and availability of products

*Producing engineering reports

*Providing technical support to other departments

*Supporting DFMEA activities

*Producing Engineering drawings for conformance to BS8888

The successful candidate will have:

*Understanding of hand calculations and FEA

*Sound knowledge of physics and mechanical engineering theory

*Degree (BEng) in relevant engineering field

*Knowledge of codes of conduct and ethical working

*Knowledge of component testing and design of tests

*Sound knowledge of GD&T

Further desirable skills include:

*Relevant experience in a product engineering business

*Application of product design process

*Experience using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation

*Masters' degree in relevant engineering field

*Experience working with high power electric and hybrid powertrains

*Experience of automotive traction batteries and motors
