We are currently working with a technology centre in Cork in Ireland who have a new opportunity for someone to lead and build up a group of engineers in the area of IC Design for power management.


Reporting to the technology centre Director, the Head of Power Management will be, responsible for building and leading an R&D Group and will be creating the power management research roadmap, by engaging with companies to identify their research needs.


You will be tasked with delivering on the research roadmap by growing collaborations with academic and industrial partners and driving funding to expand and build the group. In this role you will be leading a number of other senior research staff, as well as post-docs and PhD students.


Responsibilities include:


* Setting the power management research agenda and developing a detailed research roadmap for the power group including project definitions.

* Leading the research agenda and manage all funding aspects.

* Define new projects and targeting new private and public funding.

* Attract and recruit key research staff.


This is an IC Design related position and would suit someone with a strong background in Power Management Analog/Mixed Signal IC Design or research activities - Mixed Signal devices/circuits/ICs and system integration - with a strong fundamental understanding of energy harvesting, storage and management techniques. Experience is also required in leading in a research team environment and managing staff or students. A PhD in Science / Engineering / Microelectronics or Electric Engineering is highly desired along with experience of publishing into recognised journals. Excellent communications skills are essential.
