A multi national Semiconductor manufacture currently seeks a Junor RF/MMIC Design Engineer for their design centre in the sunny South of France.
You will be joining an experienced team developing RF and mmwave integrated circuits for next generation cellular solutions, within a multi-site environment and in this role you will design, simulate and evaluate RF and mmwave integrated circuits (from baseband up to 40GHz). Design areas will primarily encompass challenging mmwave circuits for transmit and receive paths (such as LNAs, mixers, PAs, RF VGAs, phase shifters, passive structures). You will work to implement circuits using either an advanced CMOS technology or high performance SiGe BiCMOS technology.
You will work in close collaboration with system engineers to understand the specification requirements. Using these specifications, you will work to identify, select and develop the best architecture to meet the requirements. You will balance creativity with detailed analysis to validate the architecture and circuit implementation of your block. Extensive simulations will be used to complete the validation of circuit performance. You will work closely with other engineers to ensure your block can be successfully integrated into the top level, and that the interfaces are fully validated. You will need to understand layout trade-offs to obtain a fully optimised layout for your circuit and run detailed extracted simulations to take account of layout parasitics. You will model accurately EM effects in the layout and during the design of passive structures.

Industry degree qualified the successful applicant will have recently completed a PhD in RFIC or mmwave design and have an outstanding academic record. Some industrial internship experience is also useful.
Good understanding of radio system architectures and trade-offs is ideal and experience of advanced CMOS technologies and/or SiGe BiCMOS is essential. They are looking for a highly motivated team player who is passionate about developing high performance RF/MMICs for next generation cellular technologies. The ability to bring innovation to their circuits is also important.
