Performance Engineer – Software OS

World Leading Organisation! Leading Edge Technology! Cambridge Based! Performance Engineer - Software OS! The Performance Engineer - Software OS will be working with a leading server virtualisation organisation based in Cambridge. The Performance Software Engineer - Software OS will be responsible for using their technical knowledge and ingenuity to increase the performance of this leading software across multiple platforms. You will be responsible for identifying bottlenecks and writing innovative code to remove them. The Performance team works right through the software stack giving you opportunity to work at kernel and driver level working with GPU's under a variety of operating systems.


Your background should include hands on software development, performance optimisation, systems analysis, debugging - the list goes on but your main skill should be your willingness to learn new technologies and new technical skills. You will need a good knowledge of the major components of an operating system, exposure to Linux and/or Windows and great programming skills (C, C++, C#, Python). You should also have a tenacious attitude enabling you to find any bugs, bottlenecks etc. to improve the software performance.
