PostgreSQL Developer

Senior PostgreSQL Developer

Location: Berlin

Salary: Competitive

Exciting and growing company in the mobile & web space is looking to hire a Senior PostgreSQL Developer to join their team in Berlin

Have you ever wanted to work on a high load application? How about over 250B datapoints of mobile traffic? This is at least as much as their servers are processing every month.

They are looking for a PostgreSQL Developer with Software Development Experience in C to maintain and expand existing extensions and develop new ones for their range of products.

Maintaining and expending will entail: adding parallelism to aggregates of custom analytic data types to istore, improving general usability of Kafka foreign data wrapper and working with some of their C-language extensions that interact with outside services, such as the Kafka foreign database wrapper. You will work closely with 3 other data team colleagues to determine cases where new data types and extensions would be clearly beneficial and develop them using C.

You will test the software with unit tests and review current enumerable type extensions for possible simplifications.

This role will require careful attention to data structure and memory management detail. It involves management and maintenance of libraries, which store data in a persistent state and hence understanding of the challenges in maintaining software across time.

If this all sounds interesting to you and you are contributing to PostgreSQL and/or have published software libraries - I am keen to hear from you!

If you are interested, send your CV to Matt Andrews at IC Creative.
