Principal Analog IC Design Engineer

This is an opportunity for a Principal Analog IC Design Engineer to join a global company in their design centre based in Cambridge working within a world-class Analog IC Design team providing high performance Analog/Mixed Signal ICs for data communication and networking products.


In this role you will be involved in designing high performance ADCs, DACs, filters and timing circuits and your role will encompass circuit design, architecture, implementation, design review, layout and silicon validation.


Responsibilities will include:



  • Developing CMOS Power management IP and improving RF transceivers with emphasis on performance, size and low power

  • Supporting product engineering teams in test, qualification and release to production

  • Delivering design documents and specifications, review files and evaluation plans

  • Working with local and cross site Digital and Analog teams to define circuit specifications

  • Supporting cross site and local characterisation and validation teams


Industry degree qualified the successful applicant will have 10 plus years of experience in Analog or RF IC Design, ideally with background in high efficiency power management architectures and/or low power designs for wireless radio applications. Experience in some or all of the follow is required; voltage or current mode DC-DCs, buck/boost, Low noise LDOs, Battery chargers, ADCs.


You will ideally have a strong understanding of wireless transceivers, ESD design and layout principles. A strong understanding of the relevant design tools is essential such as; Cadence Analog Artist/Composer, Cadence Virtuoso, Synthesis & Place & Route tools. Experience in 40nm and below CMOS process is highly desired.
