With the recent news of an ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) starter kit from ARM and IBM being released soon, the way in which we live our lives is set to change over the next 5 years.

There is set to be an estimated 5 billion internet-connected ‘things’ available by the end of 2015, including fridges, sprinkler systems, garaIoTges and cars, and this is only set to rise to an estimated 20 billion by 2020.

With the estimated price of the devices to be around $50- $200, analysts have predicted that by 2018 over 50% of IoT applications will come from start-ups, this coupled with the fact that only our imagination can hold us back on what devices/apps can be connected to the IoT , the future of this market only looks set to grow.
