Our client is a leading technology business developing advanced RF, microwave and mmWave solutions for high-performance electronic systems. Their work supports demanding applications across areas such as AI infrastructure, 5G\/6G communications, automotive radar, aerospace, defence and semiconductor technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are looking for an MMIC Test & Characterisation Engineer<\/strong> to support the validation and characterisation of next-generation RF\/mmWave ICs, MMICs and semiconductor technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The role<\/span><\/h2>\n

The MMIC Test & Characterisation Engineer<\/strong> will be responsible for hands-on RF\/mmWave measurement, validation and data analysis for advanced high-frequency devices and test structures.<\/span><\/p>\n

This role sits close to the technology, working with IC designers, modelling engineers, semiconductor technology teams and packaging specialists to correlate real measurement data with simulation and design expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Key areas of responsibility include:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Characterising MMICs, RFICs and semiconductor test structures<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Performing on-wafer and packaged-device measurements<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Working with RF\/mmWave instrumentation including VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators and probe stations<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Carrying out S-parameter, noise, power, linearity and large-signal measurements<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Supporting device validation, technology qualification and compact model verification<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Developing automated measurement and data-processing workflows using Python, MATLAB or similar tools<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Improving measurement repeatability, throughput and data quality<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Analysing measurement data and feeding results back into design, modelling and technology teams<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Documenting test methods, measurement setups and technical findings<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What they are looking for<\/span><\/h2>\n

    The ideal MMIC Test & Characterisation Engineer<\/strong> will have strong hands-on experience in RF\/mmWave test, measurement and semiconductor characterisation.<\/span><\/p>\n

    You should bring experience across areas such as:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • RF, microwave or mmWave IC test and characterisation<\/span><\/li>\n
    • On-wafer or packaged-device measurement<\/span><\/li>\n
    • High-frequency measurement equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators and probe stations<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Measurements at microwave or mmWave frequencies, ideally above 100 GHz<\/span><\/li>\n
    • RF calibration, de-embedding and device characterisation techniques<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Test automation using Python, MATLAB or similar tools<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Working with semiconductor technologies such as GaAs, InP, SiGe, CMOS or related RF\/mmWave platforms<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Analysing measurement results and correlating them with simulated performance<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Experience with ADS, HFSS, EMPro, Cadence, compact modelling workflows or automated RF test system development would be beneficial.<\/span><\/p>\n

      A background in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics or a related technical discipline is expected.<\/span><\/p>\n
