Our client is a technology business developing complex communications systems for the space sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Senior Systems Engineer will work across requirements, architecture, integration and verification of multidisciplinary systems, with responsibility for allocated systems or subsystems through development, qualification and operational use.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a broad systems engineering role with a practical element. Alongside requirements, modelling and technical documentation, you will work directly with the system during testing, demonstrations and technical investigations.<\/span><\/p>\n

What you will be working on<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

You will support the development and delivery of complex communications and electro-optical systems, including:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Owning allocated systems or subsystems, including specification and verification activities<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Defining system and subsystem requirements and developing architectures, designs and models<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Planning and carrying out verification, qualification and operational demonstrations, including interoperability activities<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Supporting system integration, deployment and operation, including hands-on testing and troubleshooting<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Identifying technical risks and issues, analysing system behaviour and evaluating engineering options<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation including interface definitions, operational procedures, system models and technical budgets<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Coordinating subsystem developments and technical suppliers or subcontractors where required<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Contributing to systems engineering processes, including MBSE and associated engineering tools<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The Senior Systems Engineer may also lead significant subsystem developments and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.<\/span><\/p>\n

    What our client is looking for<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    For this Senior Systems Engineer position, our client is looking for someone with experience in:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Systems engineering of complex communications, electro-optical, electromechanical or embedded software systems<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Requirements definition, system architecture and integration<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Verification and validation across the engineering lifecycle<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Practical system testing, troubleshooting and data analysis<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Systems engineering processes, with exposure to MBSE, SysML or similar modelling approaches<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Producing system documentation, interface definitions and technical models<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Working across multiple engineering disciplines and with external technical partners<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Experience in satellite communications, optical communications, high-data-rate systems, precision optics, lasers, tracking or control systems would be useful. Exposure to space engineering standards, system security, networking, Python-based analysis or automation may also be relevant.<\/span><\/p>\n

      A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required, together with at least five years of relevant systems engineering experience.<\/span><\/p>\n
