Our exciting new start-up is currently searching for a Chief of Engineering – Semiconductor Manufacturing to serve as the executive leader responsible for delivering the company’s quantum computing hardware from process development through fabrication, packaging, testing, and shipment. Partnering closely with the CEO/CTO to translate technology vision into scalable, manufacturable products will be an important part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end hardware delivery, ensuring products are delivered on time and to specification
- Build, lead, and grow high-performing hardware engineering teams
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with semiconductor fabs (MEMS, BEoL, OSAT) to co-develop manufacturing processes
- Define and execute the company’s long-term fabrication and process development strategy
- Oversee supply chain, vendor management, process qualification, and manufacturing execution
- Act as the bridge between engineering vision and manufacturing reality, providing practical input on manufacturability, timelines, and technical trade-offs
- Develop and protect process and manufacturing IP.
Ideal Candidate
- Extensive experience delivering semiconductor hardware products, particularly packaged IC modules
- Strong background in semiconductor process integration (e.g., MEMS, CMOS BEoL, wafer-level packaging, heterogeneous integration)
- Proven success managing fab co-development programs and semiconductor manufacturing partnerships
- Experience leading supply chains in fabless or fab-light companies
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead engineering organisations
- Strategic understanding of semiconductor IP, commercial partnerships, and manufacturing roadmaps
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced deep-tech startup environment
- Fluent in English
