FPGA Engineer – Delft – AI Vision Systems

We are supporting an ambitious European technology company developing next-generation AI-powered navigation and machine vision systems for defence applications. They are looking to add an FPGA Engineer to their growing hardware team, helping to develop low-latency vision platforms that operate in some of the world’s most demanding environments.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of FPGA development from RTL through to hardware validation. Working alongside optics, embedded software, and electronics engineers, you’ll help integrate advanced image sensors, optimise video processing pipelines, and deliver compact, high-performance systems for real-world deployment.

The role will involve developing and verifying FPGA IP, implementing high-speed camera interfaces, supporting system integration, and carrying out simulation, timing closure, and on-hardware validation. You’ll also play an important role in shaping future hardware architectures within a fast-moving engineering team.

They are looking for an FPGA Engineer with the following background:

  • 3+ years of FPGA development experience
  • Strong RTL development using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
  • Experience with MIPI CSI-2 and/or LVDS interfaces
  • Background in real-time video or image processing pipelines
  • Experience taking FPGA designs from RTL through to validated hardware
  • Understanding of timing closure, clock domain crossing, and system integration
  • Strong debugging and hardware validation skills

Experience with camera sensors, NanoXplore or Cologne Chip FPGAs, hardware/software integration, or low-power embedded systems would be advantageous.
