FPGA Engineer

Cambridgeshire, England
Exciting Design Consultancy
Job ID: 490879

We’re supporting an innovative engineering business that partners with organisations across defence, communications, and advanced technology to develop solutions to some of the industry’s most challenging technical problems. They are looking to add an FPGA Engineer to their growing team in Cambridge.

Rather than working on a single product, you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of projects, taking concepts from initial feasibility through to working hardware. You’ll collaborate with experts across electronics, software, physics, and systems engineering, giving you the opportunity to broaden your technical expertise while making a real impact on cutting-edge developments.

The role will involve designing and implementing FPGA firmware, developing RTL, supporting hardware integration and verification, and contributing throughout the full product development lifecycle. You’ll work on technically diverse programmes where innovation, creativity, and practical engineering go hand in hand.

They are looking for an FPGA Engineer with the following background:

  • FPGA development experience using VHDL or Verilog
  • Experience with FPGA development tools such as Vivado or Quartus
  • Strong digital design and verification skills
  • Understanding of the complete FPGA development lifecycle
  • Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
  • Excellent communication and collaborative problem-solving skills

Experience with DSP, MATLAB/Simulink, embedded software, Linux, radar, communications, or Software Defined Radio (SDR) would be beneficial.
