Photonics Architect

My client is seeking a Photonics Architect with strong experience in the R&D of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) to help drive next-generation photonic technologies. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in innovation-focused environments and is confident collaborating with external partners and stakeholders.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in the research and development of photonic integrated circuits
• Strong system-level understanding of photonics and PIC architectures
• Ability to define technology roadmaps and drive architectural concepts
• Competence in simulations, feasibility analyses, and guiding design teams
• Hands-on familiarity with PIC development workflows and integration challenges
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with external partners, suppliers, and customers
• Industry experience (telecom, sensing, datacom, or related fields) is highly advantageous
• A proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams

Existing work rights in the EU and willingness to relocate to/within the Netherlands
