We are seeking a PIC Characterisation Engineer to support the development of next-generation integrated photonic technologies. This role focuses on the test, measurement, and characterisation of high-speed photonic integrated circuits (PICs) used in advanced optical communication and sensing applications.
Key responsibilities & requirements
- Characterise high-speed PIC devices, including modulators, detectors, and integrated optical components
- Perform electro-optic testing using high-frequency measurement equipment such as VNAs, high-speed oscilloscopes, and BER testers
- Develop and automate optical and electrical test setups for device characterisation
- Analyse device performance and collaborate with design and fabrication teams to support device optimisation
- Apply knowledge of optical communications, photonic integrated circuits, and high-speed optoelectronic devices
- Utilise automated test environments or scripting tools (e.g. Python, MATLAB) where beneficial
- Degree in Photonics, Physics, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, with hands-on photonics characterisation experience
