Our client is looking for a Radar Technical Lead in Milan to take technical ownership of a new ground-based tracking radar product line. This hands-on role offers responsibility for architecture, engineering decisions and performance validation, with direct reporting to the CEO.
Our client develops radar systems for sensing and surveillance applications, with engineering capabilities spanning antennas, RF hardware, signal processing, integration and testing. You will bring these disciplines together to turn operational requirements into a product that performs reliably in the field.
As Radar Technical Lead, you will define the technical requirements and development roadmap, coordinating engineers across hardware, processing and tracking algorithms. The work involves practical trade-offs between detection range, resolution, clutter rejection, tracking accuracy and update rate, while keeping cost and delivery constraints in view.
You will remain involved through integration, laboratory testing, field trials and performance demonstrations. Alongside identifying technical risks and agreeing mitigation plans, you will explain design decisions to external stakeholders and contribute to product specifications, cost estimates and make-or-buy decisions.
The key requirements are:
-
Several years of hands-on radar design, development, integration or testing experience, ideally involving surveillance or tracking systems.
-
Strong understanding of RF front-ends, antennas, radar processing, target detection and tracking.
-
Experience taking systems from requirements through to validation, making informed engineering trade-offs.
-
Confidence discussing requirements and technical performance with customers or partners, with fluent English.
-
A degree in electronics, telecommunications, physics or a related discipline.
You will work closely with a dedicated commercial counterpart, giving you a direct role in shaping a technically achievable product around customer needs. Previous technical leadership experience would be valuable.
Applicants must be eligible to work in Italy.
