Senior FPGA Engineer

South Holland, Netherlands
Tackling one of the industry's biggest engineering challenges
Job ID: 470467

We are supporting an innovative quantum computing company that is tackling one of the industry’s biggest engineering challenges: scaling quantum systems from laboratory environments to commercially viable platforms. They are looking to add a Senior FPGA Engineer to their growing hardware team, developing the digital infrastructure that enables large-scale quantum control and measurement.

This role offers the opportunity to work on highly complex FPGA-based systems where timing, synchronisation, and performance are critical. You’ll collaborate with FPGA Engineers, embedded software developers, hardware engineers, and physicists to develop solutions capable of controlling and communicating with large numbers of quantum devices simultaneously.

The position will involve FPGA architecture, RTL development, verification, and system integration. You’ll help shape technical decisions, contribute to architectural improvements, and work across the full development lifecycle to deliver reliable, high-performance hardware platforms.

They are looking for a Senior FPGA Engineer with the following background:

  • 5+ years of FPGA design experience
  • Strong RTL development skills using VHDL
  • Experience with Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus
  • Verification and simulation experience using industry-standard tools
  • Understanding of bus architectures such as AXI or Avalon
  • Scripting experience using Python, TCL, or Shell
  • Experience working within Linux-based development environments

Experience with RFSoCs, DSP, SystemVerilog, UVM, timing closure, embedded Linux, or high-performance computing systems would be advantageous.
